Clarence and his book

Today’s Bookpeep is Clarence. Clarence works at Edinburgh Books and reads very widely. He is a splendid water buffalo.

He has chosen The Letters of Samuel Beckett, 1941-1956 as his book.

When questioned about his choice, he was heard to mutter, almost inaudibly, “it will be I, it will be the silence, where I am, I don’t know, I’ll never know, in the silence you don’t know, you must go on, I can’t go on, I’ll go on.”
